About Chef Dawn

At 40, Chef Dawn Knowlton made a life-changing career move. She left a career in the financial industry to pursue a lifelong wish to become a chef!

Encouraged by her friends and family, she enrolled at El Centro College, where she acquired classical cooking techniques. Those techniques, along with experience gained through her work in the financial industry, culminated into opening her own business in 2010, Pressed for Thyme Personal Chef Service. This allowed her to extend her love for creating delicious family dining experiences to others.

Several years later, Chef Dawn was offered a position as a private caterer for a special events center in Corsicana, Texas. This was a very exciting time for her. She commuted regularly from North Dallas to Corsicana and she learned a whole different side of the food service industry during this time.

She has now come full circle, and in 2016 she returns to her first passion, as a personal chef, bringing fresh, wholesome meals to her clients’ dinner tables once again.

Chef Dawn believes that food feeds the body and soul, and the act of sharing time and conversation with friends and family over a meal is one of life’s most precious gifts.
